Alvin Vaughn Merell, 63, of Tampa, Florida passed away February 3, 2020 at Advent Health Hospital of Tampa . He was born on September 17, 1958 in Tampa, to Mrs. Brownie Gantt. Alvin was a loving man, who cared deeply for his family and friends and enjoyed spending as much time with them as he possibly could. Alvin is survived by his loving companion Jean C. Lee; his grandchild, Dominique; his siblings Debra Wright, Cathy Williams, Cheryl Merrell, Craig Jackson and Lesley Charles. He also leaves to cherish his loving memories a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Brownie Gantt, and a loving daughter Fatima Duke . The family will receive friends at Florida Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at Florida Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Johnson officiating.
