Mr. Glen Allen Vinson, age 60, a resident of Bartow, Florida passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Good Shepherd Hospice Forsythe House in Auburndale surrounded by his family. Mr. Vinson was born June 19, 1962 in Hammond, Indiana to Preston Bargus and Margaret Ann (McClung) Vinson. He was a resident of Polk County, Florida since the 1970’s coming from Wildwood, Florida. Glen graduated from Kathleen High School, attended Tennessee Temple University and a member of Victory Baptist Church in Lakeland where his dad was the Pastor for 38 years now he’s a member of Westwood Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Florida. He worked for the Polk County School Board for 20+ years as a Quality Control Specialist and was a member of the Polk County School Board Union. He coached football for, Bartow High School, Mulberry High School, Auburndale Youth and Highland City Little League Baseball. Glen enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf with his dad and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother – Preston “Wayne” Vinson and nephew – Robert “Robbie” Gibson. Glen is survived by his loving family, wife of 37 years – Becky Vinson of Bartow, Florida; 2 sons – Michael (Kelly) Vann of Belleview, Florida and Jason (Anna) Vann of Belchertown, Massachusetts; 2 brothers – Jerry Vinson of Atlanta, Georgia and Steve Vinson of Lakeland, Florida; 4 grandchildren – Julia (Tristan), Jena, Tabitha & Brycen; 4 nieces – Ashton, Brittany, Megan & Hannah; 2 nephews – Preston & John and many aunts, uncles & cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 10th at Westwood Missionary Baptist Church, 3210 Avenue G NW, Winter Haven with visitation beginning at 10am at the church. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
