Mildred (Millet) Leticia Lopez, 80 years young, passed away on May 11, 2023. Millet was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 2, 1943 to Jose Angel Ramirez and Milagros Bolta Figueroa-Ramirez and later became a sister to her younger brother Jose Angel Ramirez Jr. Millet married Miguel (Cuco) Angel Lopez Marcial in Puerto Rico on April 26, 1969. She had four children Miguel Angel Lopez, Jr., Fernando Javier Lopez, and twin girls Monica Lopez Rosado (Danny) and Fabiola Lopez. In addition, she has 5 grandchildren (Meriah Brown, John Clark, Cecilia Clark, Antonio Rosado, and Gabriella Lopez) and 6 grand-pets (Baby, Poncho, Poppy, Cobie, Sailor, and Piper). In 1980, Miguel & Millet moved from Puerto Rico to Lake Alfred, Florida where they have lived for 43 years. Millet’s passion was being a devoted wife and mother who made every effort to keep her family happy. She was caring, loving, funny, loyal, and an avid prankster. She was known as Tata to her grandchildren and always encouraged and supported them to do their best. Millet's other passion and dedication was being a teacher which she taught for a combined 6 decades in Puerto Rico (Cupeyville) and East Side Elementary (Haines City, Florida). She obtained her Masters Degree in Education from Florida International University and loved all of her students, peers, and administrators. Millet loved being with her friends, meeting new people, laughing and making others laugh. She was also the only known mermaid in Lake Alfred. Millet is preceded in death by her parents (Jose & Milagros Ramirez) and her first born son (Miguel Angel Lopez Jr). She is survived by her husband (Cuco), brother (Jose Angel Ramirez Jr), 3 children (Nando, Monica, & Fab), 5 grandkids (Meriah, Jac, Sasa, Choochie, & Gabi).
