Donald Robert Whalen

Mr. Donald Robert Whalen, age 82, a resident of Auburndale, Florida passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Good Shepherd Hospice Forsythe House in Auburndale with his wife by his side. Mr. Whalen was born August 1, 1940 in Akron, Ohio to Edward Afton and Mary Winifred (Brown) Whalen. He was a resident of Auburndale since 2008 coming from Ohio. Donald was a retired Pattern Maker in the Tire Industry. He enjoyed golf, football, playing cards, sporting events and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife – Anna Whalen; brother – Ronald Richard Whalen; 3 sisters – Janet Joy, Florine Faith & Annette Glory. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 3 years – Helen “Gayle” Howe of Auburndale, Florida & Canada; daughter – Dawn (Eric) Bloam of North Ridgeville, Ohio; 2 sisters – Anita Hope (Troy) Goforth and Edwina Jane Webster of Akron, Ohio; 3 grandchildren – Ryan , Kyle and Hannah. A celebration of life service will be held in Canada.
