Peter Edward Brunner
July 20th, 1939 - February 10th, 2024
Pete Brunner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, at the age of 84 in Polk City, Florida. He was born on July 20, 1939, in Pella, Wisconsin, to Allen and Virginia Brunner. A man of deep faith, Pete was a pillar of strength and kindness. Pete will be remembered for his kind heart, generosity, and unwavering compassion. He was a shining example of God’s unconditional love, always making others feel cherished and valued. When Pete engaged in conversation, he gave his full attention, making everyone feel seen and loved. Pete loved RV’ing with his wife and eight grandchildren, as well as music, family reunions, watching NASCAR races and the Green Bay Packers. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, whose selfless love and unwavering support were the cornerstones of his family. Pete leaves behind his loving wife, Marcia “Marci” Brunner, and their children: Dawn Lindsay (Bill), Steven Wachter (Laurie), Patti Gehring (Jeff “Chuck”), Brian Wachter (Shelly), and Wendy Poole, as well as his adored eight grandchildren: Kyle Gehring (Amy), Lacey Flaim (Dario), Ridge Poole (Sunshine), Ryan Gehring, Dayne Craig, Emma Wachter, Kameron Wachter, Abbey Wachter and two great-grandchildren: Vincenzo and Daria Flaim who will continue to walk in the light of his wisdom and love. Pete is predeceased by his father, Allen Brunner, his mother, Virginia Brunner, his brother, Riggs Brunner, his son, Dean Brunner, his son-in-law, Larry Poole, and his ex-wife Sandra Howdyshell. The family will receive friends and loved ones at Kersey Funeral Home, 108 Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale, Florida. The viewing and visitation will be on March 4, at 10 am with a Memorial Service at 11 am. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mount Olive Shores North, Clubhouse 1, in Polk City, Florida, at 2 pm, with a light luncheon to follow. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to Gabriel House of Care,4599 Worral Way, Jacksonville, Florida 32224 (located on the Mayo Clinic Campus). His memory will be eternally treasured, and his spirit will continue to guide those he left behind. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.
