Donald "Don" Nathaniel Phillips

Mr. Donald Nathaniel “Don” Phillips, age 81, a resident of Auburndale, Florida passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Good Shepherd Hospice surrounded by his family. Mr. Phillips was born April 15, 1942 in Hillsborough County, Florida to Willie B and Myrtice Voncel (Davis) Phillips. He was a lifetime Polk County resident living in Pinecrest, Mulberry and then Auburndale. Don graduated from Auburndale High School. He retired from WR Grace after 25 years of service, City of Lakeland after 26 years of service and had his own Phillips Lawn care service for 30 years. Don enjoyed deep sea & fresh water fishing, hunting, golf, working with leather to make things, making cast nets and loved to spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother – James Walter Phillips and sister – Sharon Ann Culp. Don is survived by his loving & devoted family, wife of 60 years – Barbara “Ann” Phillips of Auburndale, Florida; 2 daughters – Angela Denise Brown of Fort Valley, Georgia and Valari Celeste (Mark) Woodard of Auburndale, Florida; brother – Billy Wayne Phillips and sister Patricia Ann Marshall both of Lakeland, Florida; 4 grandsons – Christopher, Kyle, Matthew & Aaron. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Don Phillips name to either; Good Shepherd Hospice or the American Cancer Society. A celebration of Don’s life will be held 3pm Tuesday, March 5th at Kersey Funeral Home with a gathering beginning at 2pm.
