Mary McCord

LAKELAND - Mrs. Mary Frances McCord, age 85, of Lakeland passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Lakeland due to heart failure. Mrs. McCord was born in Compass Lake, Fl. and moved to this area from Dothan, Alabama in 1948. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Lakeland and enjoyed gardening, quilting and cooking. Mrs. McCord was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd McCord, a daughter, Ginger Deloney and a great granddaughter, Jordan Michelle Long. Surviving are her daughter, Emma Jones of Lakeland, 3 brothers, Herbert, J.L. and Joe Hughes, all of Dothan, 2 sisters, Nell Hughes of Auburndale and Ann Harrell of Winter Haven, granddaughters, Michelle Walters of Valley, Al. and Kendra Weaver of Lakeland, grandson, Brandon Deloney of Ozark, Al, and 3 great granddaughters, Madison Maddox and McKayla Maddox, both of Lakeland and Harper Deloney of Ozark, Al. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 PM at the Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale with visitation beginning at 1 PM.
