Ralph Estes

Mr. Ralph David "R.D." Estes, age 62 of Pickensville, Alabama passed away September 2, 2012 in Lakeland due to cancer. R.D. was born in Columbus, MS on August 7, 1950 and was one of four children born to Ralph and Edith Estes. The family moved to Auburndale when R.D. was five years old where he attended school and graduated in 1968. He also served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Anna Estes of Pickensville, Alabama, son, Ty Estes of Lebanaon, Tennessee, sisters Virginia Bryan, Brenda Thomas of Lakeland and Alice Ellis of Port Gibson, Mississippi as well as two nieces and two nephews. R.D. had worked for Georgia Pacific for the past 36 years where he was very devoted to the job that he loved as well as the many friends he has made through the years there. R.D. loved his family, friends, golf, duck hunting and fishing. A private service will be held at his home on Clear Lake Cove, in Pickensville, Alabama at his request. R.D. also requested no flowers but to make donations to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1400 S. Orange Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32801
