Joyce Clark Dowdy

Mrs. Joyce Annette Clark Dowdy, age 72 a resident of Auburndale passed into eternal life in heaven on Monday, August 20, 2012. Joyce was born March 12, 1940 in Jamestown, New York to Arthur and Lilo (Weatherly) Clark. She grew up in Bemus Point, New York graduating from high school class of 1958. After marriage to Boyd Linamen, they moved to Florida where she raised her family. Later she married William ?Pete? dowdy in 1989. One of the greatest joys in her life was knowing Jesus as her personal savior and friend. Her faith in God was a sustaining force in her life, she attended Family Worship Center in Lakeland, was a longtime volunteer with Angels for Hope crocheting Angels for those in need of hope and reassurance that they were loved. Joyce enjoyed working in the yard and had been employed for many years in Horticulture at Sea World in Orlando and Boardwalk & Baseball. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter ? Tami Dawn Linamen Hicks in 1985 as the result of an automobile accident, which also took the life of a dear friend Ruth Phipps; brother ? Don & Chuck Clark; sisters ? Ruth Clark & Shirley LeBaron. Many other family & friends. Joyce is survived by her husband of 23 years, William ?Pete? Dowdy of Auburndale; three sons, Terry Ronald (Leoa) Linamen of Winter Haven, and Tim Donald (Lisa) Linamen and Todd David (Elaine) Linamen of Auburndale; two stepsons, William Allen (Margaret) Dowdy and Timothy Wade (Kim) Dowdy of Winter Haven; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
