AUBURNDALE - Mrs. Betty Rose McCoy, age 74, a resident of Auburndale, passed away Wed. June 15, 2011 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to heart failure. Mrs. McCoy was born Oct. 29, 1936 in Lakeland, FL, to Norman Gilbert and Dora Elizabeth (Asbell) Martin. She retired from State Farm Insurance after 29 years of service. She was a lifetime resident of Polk County, and a member of the Schillinger Road Baptist Church in Mobile. She also loved shopping, fishing & reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clifton C. McCoy; 2 brothers: Norman & Gilbert Martin. Betty is survived by her loving family: son Pastor Martin (Jerri) McCoy of Mobile, AL; daughter Carol McCoy of Auburndale, FL; stepson Victor (Connie) McCoy of Middleburg, FL; 2 brothers: Michael (Dawn) Martin of Crestview, FL, Wayne (Hope) Martin of Altha, FL; sister Lorene Skorup of Lakeland; 3 grandchildren: Randy, Christopher & Kristy; 1 great grandson Jaxon. Funeral services will be held at 11am Sat. June 18, 2011 at the Westside Missionary Baptist Church, 217 Old Dixie Hwy., Auburndale, Visitation will be held from 10-11am before services. Interment will follow at the Auburndale Memorial Park. Arrangements By: Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake Stella Dr., Auburndale.
