Gail Fussell

Ms. Gail Lynn Fussell, 55, MSGT, U.S. Air Force - Retired of Melbourne, FL passed away of lung cancer on July 14, 2011 in Cocoa, FL. She was born April 26, 1956, and raised in Lakeland, FL, where she enlisted in the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduat ing from Kathleen High School. As a MSGT, Gail served 24 years honorably in the Philippines, Thailand and various US bases be fore retiring at Patrick Air Force base. After her time in the service, she retired in Melbourne where she was an auxiliary member of VFW post # 8191 for many years. She enjoyed gardening and saltwater fishing in Islamorada, FL with her family and with her friends in Melbourne and Homestead. Loving brothers and sisters, Gails closest friend - Debbie Carriere of Melbourne, FL, and other close friends and relatives attended and supported Gail during her short hospice stay. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irma Lea Fussell and George Lamar Fussell of Lakeland, FL. She is survived by sis ters, Sharon Fussell Larkin of Gainesville, FL, Nancy Fussell Miller of Lakeland, FL, Diane Fussell Ford of Winter Haven; brother, Greg Fussell of Gainesville; twin brother, Gary Fussell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sis ter-in-law, Paula Varnes Fussell of Gainesville, FL; close friend, Dale Hannah; and many nieces and nephews. A motorcycle poker run will be held at the VFW post 8191 in Melbourne, FL, on July 31, 2011 to honor Gails memory and service to the nation.
