AUBURNDALE - Clarsie Belle Smith, age 80, a resident of Auburndale, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at her home due to lung cancer. Mrs. Smith was born February 18, 1930 in Sparta, TN. to Herman and Edna Polston. She was a Polk County resident since 1937 coming from TN. She retired after 32 years from General Foods as a Supervisor shipping and receiving clerk. She graduated from Kathleen High School, enjoyed fishing and loved being with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parent; 1st husband Robert V. Smith; 3 brothers and great grandson Joshwa. Clarsie is survived by her loving family: 3 sons: Kenneth Smith, Robert Smith, Bill (Edna) Smith, all of Auburndale; 3 brothers: Harold (Voncille) Polston, Plant City, Bud (Joanne) Polston of TN, John (Barbara) Polston, Lakeland; 4 sisters: Pat Edenfield, Auburndale, Ann Daugherty, Loretta (Floyd) Williamson, both of Lakeland, Jo (James) Edenfield, Lake City, FL; 8 grandchildren: Kassie, Kalum, Tori, Robert, Heather, Joshua, Billy & Melissa; 19 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 12:30 PM Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Auburndale Memorial Park, 1889 West Derby Ave., Auburndale. Visitation will be held Monday, June 21, 2010 from 11 AM until 12:00 PM at the Kersey Funeral Home, 108 E. Lake Stella Dr., Auburndale.
