Mr. Monte Gene Goodman, age 81, (September 26, 1936) of Auburndale passed away Monday February 19, 2018 at his home. Mr. Goodman was a native of Hatfield, Indiana and had been a resident of Auburndale since 1977 coming from Williamson, West Virginia. He was a retired Medical Lab Technician, a retired U.S. Navy veteran after serving 20 years and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale. He was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Juanita Goodman and his brother Wayne Wright. Survivors include his wife of 44 years Dawn Goodman of Auburndale; 3 sons Monte Goodman II (Kelly) of Eagle Lake, Bill May (Patty) of Melbourne, FL and Duane Goodman (Charlotte) of Seattle, WA; 2 daughters Kristi Snelgrove of Winter Haven and Diana Goodman King (Scott) of Seattle, WA.: 1 brother Rev. Cleon Wright (Janet) of Greenwood, Indiana and 1 sister Kay Doan of Boonville, Indiana; 12 Grandchildren; and 5 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday February 25, 2018 at the Kersey Funeral Home, 108 Lake Stella Drive, Auburndale. Visitation will be Saturday February 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the First Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 406 Main Street, Auburndale, FL 33823. Interment will be in the Auburndale Memorial Park.
