Wendell L Collins

Mr. Wendell L. Collins, age 61 of Auburndale passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in Lakeland. Mr. Collins was born in Wise, Va. to Vencil & Mae Collins and had lived in this area since 1977. He was a retired Welder/Fabricator with Hunt Brothers Citrus Packing in Lake Wales and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jeff & Reece Collins and his sister, Jetta Collins. Mr. Collins is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jean Collins of Auburndale as well as 3 sons, Michael Laney of Davenport, Mark Collins of Lakeland and Chris Collins of Miami, 3 brothers, Benny Collins of Savannah, Ga., Riley Collins of Gainesville, Fl. and Mickle Collins of Lake Wales, 4 sisters, Pat Benton of Auburndale, Val Hodges of Orlando, Jean Hubert of Wise, Va. and Laura Varney of Lake Wales, 6 grandchildren, Madeline Collins, Alex & Quentin Laney, Abigail Collins, Owen Collins and Amber Collins and 1 great granddaughter, Hazel Laney. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday at 1 PM at 4332 Cheri Drive, Auburndale.
