Russell Harvey "Butch" Grimstead, Jr.

Cocoa, FL– Russell Harvey “Butch” Grimstead, Jr., 72, peacefully went into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 8, 2020 at home, surrounded by his family. He was the son of Harvey and Rosa Grimstead of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Millie Grimstead: children, Joe Grimstead (Liza), Mandie Whitlow (Barry). Grandsons (3) who lovingly and affectionately referred to him as “Pops”; mother, Rosa Grimstead; sister, Malinda Etheridge; Brother in laws, John Knight, Stuart Johnston. Sister in laws, Peggy Wholey, Sandra Knight, Joanne Knight, June Johnston. He was a graduate of Kellam High School and Old Dominion University. He was a teacher at Knotts Island and Creeds Elementary school. He was a Research Analyst for Skip’s Sports and the Athletic Dealers of America. He ended his career as a Private Investigator in Florida. He was known as “Mr. Fisherman” to his fishing friends in Florida. One of his favorite things to do was grilling “Butch Burgers” and steaks for his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and golfing. He was a devoted Christian and worshiped at East Coast Christian Center, Church at Viera and Calvary Chapel Viera. The family will host a celebration of life at a future date to be determined.
