Bradford "Brad" Powers
July 17th, 1934 - February 25th, 2022
Bradford "Brad" Powers peacefully joined his wife of over 50 years Dorothy on Friday, February 25, 2022. Born to Frances and Walter Powers on July 17, 1934, in Tazewell County, Virginia, Brad was the sixth of their fifteen children. He is survived by his children Wendy, Leah, and Joey, as well as, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, five sisters, and one brother. He had a deep love of animals and will also be missed by his many dogs, cats, and the turtles and raccoons who lived in the woods near his home that he would feed daily. Brad led a complete life of service, entering the United States Air Force in 1951 and served honorably during the Korean War as a firefighter stationed in Okinawa. After leaving the military Brad served as a Cocoa Police Officer, Firefighter, and Paramedic, before transitioning into long haul truck driving and finishing his career at Gannett News in Melbourne. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, March 02, 2022 at 9:00 am at Brevard Memorial Park in Cocoa.
