Stephen Woodworth Greene

On June 14, 2022, Stephen W. Greene slipped the surly bonds of earth and touched the face of God. Steve loved God, his family, his Raider family and the Rockledge community. Steve was born June 23,1948 in Morristown NJ and raised in Summit, NJ. He received his BA from Rollins College and his MS from Stetson University. He was drafted and served in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1976. After his time of service, he returned to Brevard County and began his teaching career. He taught at Edgewood, Cocoa Beach, Johnson Jr High and Rockledge High School. He enjoyed his time at Rockledge High and was proud to be a Raider! He loved the Florida Gators, his Rockledge Raiders and all things sports. Fantasy Baseball was a passion and he participated in a league with the same guys for over 30 years. Steve leaves behind his wife Terri, his son David, his daughter-in-law Sarah, and his grandchildren Zachary and Emelia as well as his sister Toby Jackson, brother-in-law Tad, and her daughters and their families. His son Joshua predeceased him while serving in the US Navy.(1999) The outpouring of support in recent weeks from his former students and the Rockledge Community has been awesome. They have visited, providing meals and listening ears. A special thanks to Assisting Hands Home Care, St Francis Hospice, Patty Smith, Marissa Hirsche and Toby Jackson. The funeral will be at Cross Bridge Church on Saturday, June 18, 2022. At 1:00 P.M. Details on time and about the reception to immediately follow are being determined and will be announced soon. If you desire, wear your Gator or Raider or other sports team apparel (leaving the Seminoles and Bulldogs at home).
