Mr. Howard William Roden, age 79 a resident of Lake Alfred passed away Sun. June 17, 2018. Mr. Roden was born Sept. 8, 1938 in Nauvoo, AL. to John and Elvia (Norris) Roden. Howard was a resident of Polk Co for over 60 plus yrs. graduated 1957 the 1st class of Winter Haven High School and retired from General Foods as a Maintence Supervisor. He attended the Church of God Winter Haven with his sister and the Auburndale Community Church with his caregiver. He was also in the Army Reserve. Howard enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife – Bonnie Roden and 4 sisters – Ruth, Myra, Dixie & Patsy.Howard is survived by his loving family; 2 Sons: Michael (Julie) Roden of Montverde, FL., Richard (Valerie) Roden of Atwater, CA.,6 Grandchildren: Darcie, Drew, Kiely, Ryan, Joshua & Danica,Special daughter & caretaker: Laurie Barker, Caretakers: Janet Davis, Kim Daniels & Kayla Coe. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Howard Roden’s name to; The Lighthouse for the Blind, 206 Avenue D NW, Winter Haven, FL. 33881.
