Samuel Locascio

LAKE ALFRED - Samuel Locascio, 80, Lake Alfred, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Life Care Center in Winter Haven after a long battle with lymphoma. Sam was born in Streator, Illinois and moved to Lake Alfred in 1975. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an insurance salesman with Metropolitan Life and a manager for Scotty's Hardware. He was honored as the "Manager of the Year" in 1993. Sam loved bass fishing and camping in the great outdoors. His true passion was his family. Sam is survived by his wife Jackie Tenhet Locasclo; sons Jeffrey Locascio(Nanette), Carmel IN, Brian McDermaid (Kim), Winter Haven Fl; daughters Anita Higdon, Mulberry Fl, Lucretia Hughes, Cumming GA; grandchildren Brittany Rountree (Justin), Kelsey Hughes, Adam Higdon (Tara), Jason Higdon (Lindsay), Brandon Higdon, Kari McDermaid; great grandchildren Colby and Chloe Rountree; brothers Thomas Locascio (Mary), Bloomington IL, Peter Locascio, Streator IL and many nieces and nephews. Samuel is was preceded in death by his wife Jackie Schafer Locascio, daughter Dora Lynn Locasclo, parents Paul Locasclo, Sr., Dora Locascio, Rose Locasclo, sisters Kate Studnicki, Tina Ranger, Mary Ward; brothers Paul Locascio, Jr., James Locascio and son Randy McDermaid. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 6th from 6 to 8pm at Kersey Funeral Home, Auburndale. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church's Chapel in Winter Haven on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 10:00am. A burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park.
