Mr. John Charles Holmes, age 72 a resident of Winter Haven, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at his home with family. Mr. Holmes was born August 6, 1945 in Burton-on-Trent, England to George Charles and Kathleen Helen (Swindale) Holmes. He was a resident of Winter Haven since 2007 coming from Michigan. John was a retired Automotive Executive and a member of the Lake Ashton Golf & Pickle Ball Clubs. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling with his wife. He was preceded in death by his parents. John is survived by his loving family; wife of 49 years – Denise Holmes of Winter Haven; 2 daughters – Sarah Holmes-Hackerd and her husband Lester Hackerd of Boston. Massachusetts and Liz Holmes of San Francisco, California; grandson – Mathew Holmes-Hackerd and granddaughter – Emily Holmes-Hackerd. A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Kersey Funeral Home with a service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
