September 8th, 1948 - October 6th, 2016
MOTEE, Basmatee “Monie”, 68, of Tampa, passed away October 6, 2016. She was born in Trinidad and moved to Florida in 1988. Monie was Hindu by faith and loved spending time with her children. She never missed watching WWE wrestling and soap operas (The Young and The Restless) and could make any meal, while sharing her cuisines with everyone. Monie was preceded in death by her husband of 45 plus years, Andrew Motee; son, Sunil Motee; and sister, Soobhadra Paul. She is survived by her three children, Rajesh Motee, Prakash Motee and Vashty Motee; two brothers, Sookram Beharry and Kumar Beharry; and two sisters, Chanardaye Nanan and Anny Manansingh. A service to honor Monie’s life will take place at 2pm, Wednesday, October 12th at Florida Mortuary. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at http://www.diabetes.org/in-my-community/local-offices/tampa-florida/.
