Ruby Lee Hargrove

Mrs. Ruby Lee Hargrove, age 90, a resident of Auburndale passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Hargrove was born September 11, 1930 in Auburndale, was a lifetime resident of the area and attended Auburndale schools. Ruby graduated from Polk Community College where she studied to be an LPN. She worked at Winter Haven Hospital and many doctors offices. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale, where she was the writer of Get Well Cards for all the sick in church anywhere from 30 or more a month. Ruby enjoyed cooking, reading, seek and find puzzles and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband – Eldridge Hargrove; son – Mike Hargrove; 2 brothers – LeRoy & Bob Helms and sister – Sybil Kearney: Ruby is survived by her loving & devoted family, 2 daughters – Gail Thompson and her husband Austin and Kaye Byrd and her husband Pete both of Auburndale; 2 sons – Danny Hargrove and his wife Ginger of Lakeland and Jimbo Hargrove and his wife Carolyn of Quincy; 11 grandchildren – Greg, Will, Crystal. Vanessa, Niki, Levi, Chris, Keith, Tyrell, Christina & Brandi; 20 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11::00 am Thursday, February 4th at First Missionary Baptist Church, 406 Main St., Auburndale with visitation beginning at 10 am at the church. Interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
