Robert C Hogue II

Robert (Bob) Clinton Hogue II age 62, died at his home in Tampa on December 23, 2010. Born September 9, 1948, in Boston, Massachussetts, to Jane and Robert Hogue, he attended Coral Gables High School, Miami, and graduated from University of South Florida, Tampa, obtaining three degrees. Bob was raised in Miami, moved to Tampa in 1968 where he graduated in psychology and worked as a mental health counselor before returning to school for degrees in geology and anthropology. He worked in the environmental field, initially in coastal geology, then in petroleum remediation. He is survived by his wife, Nimet, two brothers, Thomas and Joseph, sister-in-law, Delora, nieces, Roberta Boostrom and Rita Osebold and their children, cousins, Glenn Peacock and Susan Sellers, uncles, Scott Hogue and George Luck, and his beloved sailboat, Stephanie B. Bob could do anything he put his mind to, a true bon vivant- no party was complete without him. A brilliant geologist, friend, sailor and jokester, he loved good friends, bad jokes, fine cigars, good wine, gourmet food, and old scotch. His rapier wit was enjoyed mostly by his audience, but you did not want to be the object of his rather wicked attention. He had a Richard M. Nixon memorial bathroom and was frequently politically incorrect. He was one of the most giving and generous spirits you could ever know. He had a healthy respect for Mother Nature and its resources and a true passion for the ocean; sailing freed his mind and soul. May his energy sparkle throughout the universe- it might just be big enough to handle him. At his request, no service will be held. Thanks to the staff at Lifepath Hospice for their help and support.
