Dennis Jackson Allen
January 16th, 1949 - April 1st, 2013
A loving husband and father, Dennis Jackson Allen, 64, went to be with his Lord on April 1, 2013. He is survived by his devoted wife and childhood sweetheart Nancy, his sons Brett and Casey, his sister Patricia Booth (Doug), brother Robert Allen (Joanne), nephews Kevin Crews (Bonnie), Scott Allen (Victoria), nieces Karen Harris (Patrick), Diane Allen, and great-niece Layla Allen-Wei. A Tampa native and Chamberlin High school graduate, he resided in Lutz for the past 33 years. He was a graduate of Florida State University and the University of South Florida, earning degrees in Finance and Accounting respectively. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. After his military service, he began his career as a Certified Public Accountant, having been employed by Alexander Grant and Company CPA’s, Laventhol and Horwath, CPA’s, and was a consultant CPA for Rivero Gordimer and Company CPA’s. In addition, he was employed by Anthony Distributors Inc. as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Dennis was a faithful Christian and current member of the Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church. While a member of the United Methodist Church of Lutz, he served as a Sunday school teacher and Director of Finance. A former Boy Scout, he enjoyed his six year service as Cub Master of Cub Scout Pack 12 in Lutz, Fl. He was also a charter member of the Downtown Breakfast Sertoma Club. His professional memberships included the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Dennis was a man of kindness, sensitivity, generosity, and spirituality, being loved by all who knew him. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 1:15pm, with a visitation and reception to follow. Private interment at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Scholarship Foundation at Florida State University, 322 Stadium Drive, Tallahassee, Fl, 32304.
