Andrew E Maines
November 19th, 1927 - January 10th, 2014
MAINES, Andrew E, “Andy”, passed away January 10, 2014 at age 86 while residing at Zephyr Haven in Zephyrhills, FL. He was a resident of Spring Hill until becoming hospitalized in April 2011. Andy retired from Blue Shield Security Service in PA in 2001 and moved to Spring Hill, FL with his surviving wife, Alma. His marriage to Alma, 23 years ago, expanded his family with a step daughter Becky, and step grandson, Jason. Andy raised two children, Betsy and Mark, with his first wife, Alice (deceased), while residing in Hughesville, PA. Both of these children have married and given Andy five wonderful step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Andy was born and raised in a small town which is no longer there, near Clearfield, PA. He was one of six children, three boys and three girls. He is survived by all three girls. He did some boxing in his early years and gained an appreciation for baseball. He was called to serve in the Army and was sent to Germany for his active duty time. Andy’s appreciation for baseball followed him throughout his life. He knew all the players in the leagues every summer and the statistics as the season progressed. He was a regular attendee of the Williamsport Little League Championship games every fall. Andy was a spiritual man and was a very active member of the Friends Church in Hughesville, PA. and the Hope Community Bible Alliance Church in Spring Hill, FL. He evangelistically spread God’s word by distributing flyers and talking to people he met wherever he went each day. It inspired him to invite people to attend his Church and except Christ into there heart. Andy was a very gentle and patient person and is dearly missed by his entire family. Their will be a Memorial Service at Zephyr Haven, 38250 A Ave, Zephyrhills, FL 33542 on January 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Crematory services will be completed by Florida Mortuary, 4601 North Nebraska Ave, Tampa, FL 33603.
