Lazaro Hernandez

It is with deep sorrow we mourn the passing of Lazaro "Laz" Hernández, 84, of Apollo Beach Florida on November 30, 2020 at LifePath Hospice House in Sun City Center Florida. Lazaro was preceded in death by his mother, Caridad Hernandez and his sister Rosa Padrón. He is survived by his wife Maria Elena Hernandez; daughter Lisa Maria Hernandez Wilkinson and son in law Bobby; son Marco A. Hernandez and daughter i law, Shannon; siblings Milagros Luna (Manuel) and Luis Arroyo; grandchildren Marco A. Hernandez Jr. (Kristin), Matthew C. Hernandez, Madison Frost, Brian Wilkinson (Sara); great-grandchildren Katie, Jacob and Daisy. Lazaro was born and raised in Havana Cuba where he immigrated to Los Angeles California to pursue the American Dream. He retired in Greenville, South Carolina, moving later to Apollo Beach Florida. Lazaro was a self taught engineer making his career in the Plastics Industry. He had an amazing work ethic, loved to draw, paint, read, write poetry, carpentry, was a critical thinker, and loved a spirited political debate. He enjoyed baseball and was a Yankees fan. He loved all the Bourne and Hannibal movies, all genres of music and was a great dancer. Most of all he had the biggest heart! He loved his friends and family fiercely. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, brother, uncle, and cousin. His bright smile and charming spirit will be remembered by all who had the honor of meeting him. Lazaro's funeral mass will be held at St Anne Catholic Church in Ruskin Fl on December 17 2020 at 10 am.
