Mike Barba
August 18th, 1988 - November 30th, 2021
Michael (Mike) Anthony Barba, 33, of Gibsonton, FL, passed away November 30, 2021. Mike was preceded in death by his father John Barba and his mother Debra (Patella) Barba. He is survived by his loving wife, Kristina, and his beloved son, Anthony; twin brother Andrew Barba, sister Jeannine (Steve) DeLilla, his paternal grandfather Gerry Barba, nephew Christian DeLilla, niece Gianna DeLilla, maternal grandmother Theresa Patella, Uncle Anthony (Ronnie) Patella, cousins Joe Patella and Anthony Patella, and his extended family of “in-laws” who all loved him dearly. Mike was born in Manhattan, NY, and grew up in Long Island before he moved to Florida at the age of 14. He was a graduate of East Bay High School and completed the 2-year Auto Mechanics program at Universal Technical Institute where he received his certificate. At the age of 21, Mike met the love of his life, Kristina, whom he married in 2017. Their deep and abiding love for one another was visible to all who knew them. The following year they had their son, Anthony, whom he adored. Mike loved all sports and was an avid New York Giants, Florida Gator, and Tampa Bay Lightning fan. He loved fast cars and playing Call of Duty with his best friend and twin brother, Andrew, and several close friends. He was a very skilled and accomplished mechanic, working at Ring Power for the last 2-1/2 years. He also enjoyed working on his cars. Mike was extremely proud of his Italian heritage, (especially the food) and could regularly be found watching the Sopranos series or eating his favorite snack of Soppressata and fresh Mozzarella. Mike had a smile that could light up a room. If you met him, you instantly liked him. He was a man’s man, but he was also humble, caring, and loved his whole family more than anything. A celebration of life will be held Monday December 13, 2021, from Noon to 2:00 PM at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Dr, Sun City Center, FL 33573. You will be missed beyond words as you are loved beyond measure. Our hearts are truly broken that you are now, so suddenly, gone. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike’s memory to a charity of your choice.
