Paul “Randy” Foust, 65, US Navy, peacefully went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2023, in Riverview, Florida, surrounded by his loved ones. Randy was born in Albany, Georgia, to Paul M. Foust (1928-2003) and Doris C. Foust (1930-2017) on January 17, 1957. He was the youngest of four children, following Beverly A. Johnson (1950), Susan D. Heemstra (1953 -2015), and Deborah P. Cook (1955). He spent much of his career as a long-haul truck driver. He enjoyed seeing the country and being on the road while meeting new people. He eventually turned his love of the road into a love of Harley Davidson. Randy found joy in everyone he met. He had an incredible passion for animals. He traveled everywhere in his truck with his faithful pup, Molly. He leaves behind his Scottish Terrier, Coco. He always had a smile on his face and a heart for giving. He had a love of pasta and ate it every chance he got. He spent retirement with his PRRC group at the Tampa VA. This organization was a great support system for him through the years. He held these veterans close to his heart. Randy will be deeply missed but is in the presence of our Lord and Savior. Randy’s greatest devotion was to his family, friends, and loving pets. He delighted in his beloved nieces and nephews, David L. Pfeifer, Michael Johnson, Brian. P. Pfeifer (1973-1995), Joseph A. Pfeifer (1975-2001), Beau Johnson, Pamela Dorman, Julie Volk, Sarah Rockley, and Jessica Ramphal. Residing steadfastly by his side were his great nieces and nephew, Kassondra Harris, Teagan M. Gilmore, and Nathaniel O. Harris. He also leaves behind a longtime friend and confidant, Dwayne Matthews, who was like a brother to him. He also leaves behind a lifelong partner, Barbara Kennedy, who was his strength and mainstay for over 30 years. A celebration of Randy’s life will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023. The viewing will begin at 9:30 am at Sun City Center Funeral Home, with a service to follow at 11:30 am, led by Associate Pastor Buddy Burton with First Baptist Church of Gibsonton. Military honors will be held at a Sarasota National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
