Rodolfo "Rudy" Cavazos Jr.

Rodolfo "Rudy" Cavazos Jr, 65, of Ruskin, Florida, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born to Rodolfo Cavazos Sr and Petra Rosales on December 24, 1958 in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico. At the age of 7, he moved to Mexico City. And then at 16, to the U.S., where he would spend the rest of his life. From California to Texas, but Florida is where he would plant his roots. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Sylvia Cavazos, his 3 children: Sylvia Cavazos, Jorge Cavazos and Adriana Cavazos. And his one and only grandson, Leonardo Altamarino III. Rudy enjoyed many things in life such as fishing, the ocean, traveling and cooking. But he was especially known for his love of animals. He had many pets throughout his life, mostly dogs, but treated them all like family. He was a kind and loving man. He worked most of his life as a chef. He cooked for hospitals, retirement homes and catered many events. Military balls were his favorite. Maybe because he was a very punctual man. You would never catch him late to work or any gathering he was invited to. If you were 5 mins early, you were late in his eyes. Rudy, a responsible man. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 3pm-7pm, at the Sun City Center Funeral Home. For those who would like to pay their respects, thank you and God bless.
