Gregory Shane Yamshak, 43, of Riverview, FL entered into heaven on May 26, 2012. He brought a life time of caring, kindness and respect for all of us. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends who loved him. Greg was born September 14, 1968 in Harrisburg, PA. His parents, John and Joyce Yamshak chose him to be their son on that special day. Greg's early years were spent in Lancaster, PA where he enjoyed summers in Rehoboth Beach, DL. With a move to Gulf Breeze, FL, Greg acquired a love for surfing and water skiing. Relocating to Granger, IN, Greg graduated from Penn High School in 1986. He attended Ball State University were he was accepted in their Honors Program studying Architecture. Greg was an avid sports lover and a die hard Minnesota Vikings and Florida State Seminoles football fan. He also enjoyed playing and following tennis. He participated in numerous tennis tournaments and played team tennis for schools in Gulf Breeze, FL and Granger, IN. Always a fun loving, easy going man with a great sense of humor, Greg enjoyed the adventures of the outdoors. He also appreciated and enjoyed all types of music and movies. His collection of songs and movies is numerous and varied. Greg had a memorable life living in various parts of the country from California to Texas and finally back to Florida to be close to his family. He has lived in Riverview, FL for the past three years. Greg's work experience was as diverse as his locations of living. He was always praised for his work ethic and intensity for high performance. Greg is survived by his loving parents, John and Joyce Yamshak of Apollo Beach, FL, his sister Kelly Yamshak Torchia of St. Petersburg, FL and his partner Linda Taylor of Riverview, FL. He also is survived by his grandmother Dorothy Yamshak of West Chester, PA and many uncles, aunts and cousins located in Pennsylvania, Georgia, California and Alabama. Greg will forever be in our hearts and minds and will be greatly missed. Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents Eugene and Margaret Andrien of West Chester, PA, Isabelle Yamshak Mendenhall of Paradise, PA and John Yamshak of Downingtown, PA. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 11, 2012 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New Holland, PA. A reception will follow the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gregory Shane Yamshak may be made to Southeastern Guide Dogs Inc., "Paws for Patriots" located at 4210 77th Street East, Palmetto, FL 34221. www.guidedogs.org
