97, of Freedom Plaza, Florida died August 26, 2013. He was born to Elmer and Birdie Wight in Parkman, Maine August 9, 1916. After the death of his wife, Dorothy Walker Wight, he married Violet Phelps Wight. Paul Wight had a career with the Civil Service and retired from the office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon with the position of Management Systems and Data. A veteran of WWII, he retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. Upon retirement Paul Wight designed and built a home at Branch Lake Maine where he summered with an ever growing family. Paul Commodored the sailing Regatta and became Road Comissioner as well as an active hunter and fisherman. He resided in Punta Gorda enjoying sailing, fishing, and hunting; and he travelled extensively throughout the world. He wrote two books celebrating his life. He is survived by his wife, Violet Wight, his children: Marcia Wight Drucker, David Walker Wight, and Peter Walker Wight; his six grand children, and six great grandchildren. A memorial get together will be held at Freedom Plaza, and Paul Ellsworth Wight will be buried in Parkman, Maine. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be give to the Freedom Plaza Scholarship fund.
