Barbara Joan Galloway was born 11 Jun 1941 in Decatur, Macon Co, IL to parents Virginia Erisman Galloway and Walter Lewis Galloway. She lived in Gibson City and Paris, IL until she graduated from high school and moved to Bloomington, IL to attend Illinois State University where she majored in education. She graduated and took her first job in Calumet City as a librarian. Barbara then spent the next 30 years at Miami-Dade Community College working as a librarian. During those years she received two master degrees, one in political science and one in library science. Towards the end of her career, she was appointed acting director of the library at Miami-Dade Community College and continued in that capacity for 3 years. Barbara lived in Nashville, TN for 7 years with her mother after retirement. In 2003 she moved to Sun City Center with her cousin, Judy Jouglet. She enjoyed playing golf for many years and had so many fun times with friends playing cards. She loved all sports immensely. Barbara died July 7, 2014 in LifePath Hospice, Ruskin, FL. She will be buried in GracelandjFairlawn Cemetery in Decatur,lL in graveside ceremony at a later time. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home. Barbara leaves her nieces Melissa Winnick (Jerry) of Ft Lauderdale, FL, Kara Bowhay (Eric) of Thornton, CO and nephew Jeff Galloway (Dawn) of Paris, IL, cousins Judy Jouglet of Sun City Center, FL and Dale (Mary) Harrison of Blue Ridge, VA, and 2 great-nieces and 3 great nephews. Her brother, Robert Edward Galloway, preceded her in death. Memorials to American Cancer Society, American Kidney Society or LifePath Hospice, 3723 Upper Creek Dr., Ruskin, FL 33573.
