Thigpenn, James Alfred "Jim", IV, 66 of Valrico, Fla passed away July 23, 2014 into the arms of a loving God who does not make mistakes. He was born on March 1, 1948 in Sarasota, Fla to James A. Thigpen, III and Carla Phil. He served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam Conflict. He was a graduate of Texas A and M University and a member of Tau Beta Pi and Chi Epsilon. He worked for 23 years for Hillsborough County as a project manager. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Thigpenn, III and by his brother, Arlin P. Thigpenn. Survivors include is wife of 40 years, Nelda, three sons, James W. (Sarah) Thigpenn, Paul A. (Angelica) Thigpenn and John M. Thigpenn, a daughter, Carlie Thigpenn, two granddaughters, Jamie and Katelynn, his mother, Carla P. Thigpenn, his two brothers, Murphy (Jenny) Thigpenn and John Stone Thigpenn, and his loving mother in law and biggest fan, Dorothy Hinkle Flynn, and many friends and co-workers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to donor's favorite charity.
