John E. Masterson, "Pops" 84, of Sun City Center, Fla, passed away January 21, 2018. He served in the United States Army and retired from the New York City Police Department. He was a member of St Anne Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Masterson. Survivors include his wife, Darlene, four sons, Brian Masterson and his wife, Sharon, John Masterson and his wife, Peggy, Stephen Masterson and his wife, Jane and Thomas Masterson and his life partner, Steve, two brothers, Lawrence Masterson and his wife, Mary Ellen and Frank Masterson, his sister, Anne Crowe and her husband, Tom, six grandchildren and one great grandson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, January 29, 2018 at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, Fla. Funeral Mass with military honors will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at St Anne Catholic Church, 106 11th Avenue, N.E. Ruskin, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sun City Center Emergency Squad, 720 Ray Watson Drive, Sun City Center, Fla 33573
