Albert John Bauer
July 15th, 1945 - February 7th, 2018
Albert J. Bauer, III, 72, of Sun City Center, FL passed away February 7, 2018. Al went from the loving arms of his wife, Ana V. Bauer, into the loving arms of the Lord after a wonderful life and lengthy illness. Al had a distinguished military career, serving as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He continued his support of the armed services as a Past Commander of American Legion Post 113, South Windsor, CT and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Officers Club of Hartford, CT. He was a strong believer in community volunteerism. He was a member of the Pathfinder Association in Manchester, CT and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cornerstone Foundation in Vernon, CT. Additionally, he served as head chef of Cornerstone's Soup Kitchen. In the Soup Kitchen, he was known as offering restaurant-quality ambiance and service. He and Ana moved to Sun City Center in May, 2016. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Aaron John Bauer of Southampton, MA, three grandchildren, Carlson, Amalia, and Mason, his sister, Geri Barnes of Linfield, PA, and his brother, Bradford (Therese) of Whitefish Bay, WI. Al will be missed by the Valdescaro family - his special nephews and nieces - Eric, Teresa, Erica, and Thomas of Camarillo, CA. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, FL followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 702 Valley Forge Boulevard, Sun City Center. Internment with military honors will be at Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Al's memory be made to the Sun City Center Emergency Squad, 720 Ray Watson Dr., SCC, FL 33573.
