Zoila Urquiaga

Urquiaga, Zoila, 97 passed away on December 23, 2019. She was born on September 29, 1922 to the late Lucinda (Del Valle) and Mario Baez. As a lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida, Zoila graduated from Hillsborough High School. Following her graduation, Zoila pursued her degree in cosmetology. After many years of success in the salon industry she opened several salons and beauty schools in Florida. Zoila was a very driven person and her success was not be chance. She worked very hard for the achievements in her life and was proud to be self-sufficient. In her personal time she enjoyed traveling domestically and internationally always wanting to experience all that life had to offer. She will be deeply and remembered always. Zoila is survived by her son, Robert Valdez Sr. (Yvonne); sister, Laura Ferlita; grandchildren; Robert Valdez Jr. (Kimberly), Nicole Dawson; great grandchildren; Jordan Valdez, Jaycie Valdez, Emmie Valdez, Ethan Valdez, Averi Dawson, Kasyn Dawson-Cox; many extended family members and friends. Zoila was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juvenal “Pepe” Urquiaga. In addition to her parents and siblings she was also preceded in death by her brother, Mario Baez, sisters, Cecelia Cascio and Olga Arduengo. The family will receive friends for a gathering from 11am until the service at Noon on Monday, January 6th, ALife Tribute Funeral Care, 4040 Henderson Blvd. Tampa, FL 33629.
