John J. Fitzpatrick, 86, of West Melbourne, FL, passed away on January 16, 2012. John was born November 6, 1925 in Albany, NY. He is the son of James E. Fitzpatrick and Evelyn Binns Fizpatrick. He is pre-deceased by his brother James Fitzpatrick and his sister Dorothy Fitzpatrick McCarthy. John is also pre deceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Ellen McKinny Fitzpatrick, his son Neil E. Fitzpatrick and his daughter Maureen Fernandez (Yves). John is survived by six children, Mary Ellen Murtha (Gary), Brian J. Fitzpatrick (Denise), Elizabeth Williams (Tim), Joan Marie Fitzpatrick, James E. Fitzpatrick II, Meg Fizpatrick (Mitch Van Neurden). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.. and his loving companion (dog) Gigi. John and his loving wife were married in 1948 and lived in Long Island, NY where John had a management career in the wine and spirits industry. John and Ellen moved their family to Deerfield Beach, Florida in 1972 where they both started a successful career selling Real Estate. In a short time, John was elected the President of the Deerfield Beach Chamber of Commerce and all his constituents regarded him as the "Perfect man for the job". John became a Sales & Marketing professional selling numerous real estate new home communities, he really enjoyed introducing future life friends to their dream homes and he was forever in their memories. John and Ellen moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1984 where they continued to enjoy real estate sales, John became the Sales & Marketing Director of Baytree , where he led his team to a complete sell out. John was famous for his Irish good looks, engaging blue eyes, winning smile and his endless supply of hysterical jokes and funny stories, particularly about his loyal dog Gigi and family members. Anyone lucky enough to have made John's acquaintance will agree that once he touched their life he would be forever in their memory. In 2006, John was very proud to join his son's automotive advertising companies, Fitzpatrick Advertising and Force Marketing, in Atlanta, GA. He was a "born salesman" and was happy to educate and inspire all of the associates with his extensive sales experiences. He will be greatly missed by his loving family, friends and associates and especially his sister in law, best friend and neighbor Marcella Mckinny Chandler Baker of Melbourne, Florida. His family and friends will be celebrating his life at the Ascension Catholic Church at 2950 North Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne Florida on Saturday January 21st at 11:30 am.
