Louis H. Flowers, age 82, of Satellite Beach, Florida, formerly a resident of Scammon, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL following an illness. Mr. Flowers was born December 16, 1929. His parents were John R and Esther (Bradbury) Flowers. He grew up in Treece, KS. He graduated from Cherokee County Community High School, Columbus, KS with the class of 1947. He attended the 65th class reunion in Columbus last June. He lived in Scammon, Kansas from 1948 until 1951 when he entered the military. He returned to Scammon to live there from 1956-1958. It was at that time, he was attending college at Pittsburgh, KS where he earned a Master's degree in Mathematics in 1959. Louis was employed as a teacher for 9 years and as a computer programmer and a manager for RCA Corporation for 25 years before his retirement in 1989. Surviving are his wife, Alberta Flowers of Satellite Beach, FL; two sons, Don Flowers of Palm Bay, FL and Rick Flowers of Valkaria, FL; 5 brothers, Larry Flowers of Worchester, MA; John Flowers of Olathe, KS; Paul Flowers of Plano, TX; David Flowers of Erie, KS; and Delbert Flowers of Chanute, KS; one sister Nedra Barnes of Joplin, MO; and one grandson Donald Flowers of Virginia Beach, VA. He was preceded in death byy one infant son and two brothers, Ronald Flowers and Bill Flowers.
