JAMES B. CANTER, 75 of Viera, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012. James was born on September 8, 1937 in Washington, DC to the late Helen (Bradley) and James Canter. He was a resident of Washington, DC and Tokoma Park, MD until moving to Florida three years ago. James was a client service representative and worked for Acacia Insurance Company in Washington, DC for 37 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order Moose Lodge 453. Of all the things he loved to do, he enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing and the beach the most. James is survived by: his beloved wife of 25 years, Marsha, his children; John H. Canter of Hickory, NC, Diane McDonald of Kauai, HI, and Joseph B. (Greg Kubiak) Canter of Washington, DC, granddaughter; Elise McDonald, step-sons; Thomas (Jeanne), Joseph (Rebecca), and Robert (Lynn) Garver of Pittsburgh, PA, and step-grandchildren; Dana, Andrea, Richard, Gabrielle, Joseph, Autumn, Amber, Leslie, Allyson and Tara. A best friend to everyone, James will be missed dearly. A mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10:00 am, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Community, Viera. Memorial services will also be held in Pittsburgh, PA and Washington, DC at a later date. In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donation be made in his memory to: D Brody Barry Fundraiser c/o Jessica and Ed Barry, 140 Rene Dr., Glenshaw, PA 15116 or to the charity of your choice.
