Charles F Merrigan
March 30th, 1916 - October 23rd, 2013
Charles F. Merrigan, 97, beloved husband of the late Betty Merrigan and preceded in death by his late children Russell , James, Charles and infant Merrigan, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. He is survived by his grandson, Matthew Merrigan of West Chester, PA and his niece, Kathy Cross of Nassau, NY. He is also survived by several other loving nieces and nephews. Fran was born in Troy, NY in 1916. He served his country in the U.S. Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1964. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1952 as an Electrical Engineer. He was a long time employee of General Electric Company, also working on the NASA Space Program. Fran was a resident of Satellite Beach, FL since 1977 and enjoyed golfing, boating, flying as a licensed private pilot, organ club and talking to friends on his ham radio. He was a man of many achievements and led an interesting and accomplished life. We will miss him and remember him with fondness always. Service arrangements are pending and internment will be held in Troy, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to: Hospice of Health First 1900 Dairy Road Melbourne, FL 32904.
