Joseph Anthony Murphy, 81, of Satellite Beach, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 21, 2014. Joe was born April 5, 1932 in New York, New York to Joseph and Edith and joined his sister Agnes Mary. After serving in the U.S. Army, 1952-1954, Joe started his career as a Teamster in heavy-hauling trucking and construction, serving as Shop Steward for Local 560. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Chief Justice White Council, Teaneck, NJ. Joe's hobbies included wood-working, fishing, camping and boating. Joe was a devoted to his family and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ann, and children Joseph (Linda) of Satellite Beach, Maryellen Jones (John) of Satellite Beach, Susan Sawyer (John) of Bremerton, WA, and grandchildren, Allison, Daniel, Matthew, Meghan, Katherine and Colleen. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Holy Name of Jesus Church, Indialantic, at 1pm. Friends and family are invited to a gathering at Skyline Estates Club House, 139 Skyline Blvd, Satellite Beach following Mass, approximately 2:30pm. Arrangements are being made by Beach Funeral Home, Indian Harbour Beach. Please share memories and sign the memory book at www.beachfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of HNJ Church, Indialantic or HNJ School Endowment Fund.
