Richard Settembrino
January 29th, 1957 - August 6th, 2015
Richard Settembrino, 64, of Satellite Beach, died peacefully at home on Thursday, August 6, 2015. Rich was born in Hackensack and raised in Lyndhurst, NJ. In 1973 he moved to Satellite Beach with his mother, Hedwig, father, Carmine and wife, Laura, to where they open Losurdo's Pizza for 11 years. In 1984, they adopted their son Marc, and in 1985 welcomed their son Ricky. He worked as a grounds keeper at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church for 26 years and also worked part-time as a pizza maker at Bernardo's (later Rosati's) in Melbourne Beach before retiring in 2010. Everyone will remember Rich as a straight-shooter with a great sense of humor and a generous heart. He loved to laugh and tell stories about the old days, often over an ice cold beer, or shot of blackberry brandy. Richard was very proud of his son Ricky for becoming a loving father to his grandson Colton in 2011 and Marc who earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Central Florida in 2013. Richard is survived by his wife of 42 years Laura, two sons, Marc and Ricky, daughter-in-law Brittany, grandson Colton, and his father, Carmine, siblings Ronnie, Dana, and Robert, sisters-in-law Cynthia and Laura, and many loving nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his mother Hedwig. Our family would like to thank Health First Hospice for providing Rich with outstanding care and comfort in his final transition. We will host a celebration in Rich's honor at a later date.
