Alexander "Bill" W. Martin Jr passed away January 10, 2016. He was born in Homestead, PA to Alex and Helen Liska Martin. Bill served in the United Sates Navy. He retired in 1986 from Hamilton Standard - United Technologies after 37 years. After retirement he worked in property management but his real passion was working alongside his close friend J.C. at his nursery. Bill transferred this love to his own gardens which were his deepest passion in life. He was a great fan of the Gaither Brothers who spiritually sustained him in his later years. Bill was best known for fun times at his home in Connecticut where he hosted wonderful get-togethers with friends and family. He served on the Board of Directors at Oceanique Resort in Florida where he and his wife of 55 years, Shirley enjoyed their later years. Bill is survived by his children Kenneth (Janie) Martin, Elizabeth (Robert) Crist, Judith Allie, And Linda (Robert) Koetsch, grandchildren Chad Koetsch, Geoffrey (Leigh) Koetsch, Todd Martin and Justin and Brian Allie, great granddaughters who gave him much joy, Aria and Scarlett Koetsch, along with his siblings; Richard Martin, Jean Panciera, Josephine Genovesi and Robert Martin. He is predeceased by his parents; Alex and Helen Martin, wife Shirley S. Martin, and siblings; Carol Mullen, Donald Martin and Geraldine Picchioni. Visitation will be held at Beach Funeral Home - East, on Thursday, January 14 from 4 to 5pm with a service to begin at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's name to the Diabetes Foundation.
