James "Jim" Michael Duffy

Jim ("The Angel Duffy") passed in peace on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the age of 83 surrounded by his family. Jim was born and raised in Highbridge, Bronx, NY. He retired from the FDNY in 1976 after 17 years as a NYC firefighter. Jim and his family moved to Melbourne, FL in 1977. Jim retired from Brevard County Fire Rescue in 2003 after 17 years. Jim was a longtime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Knights of Columbus, FDNY Retirees, and Friends of Bill W. Jim is remembered most for being a proud Irishman and firefighter, his laugh, jokes/stories and his love of family/friends. Preceded in death by his wife, Patricia of 38 years, Jim is survived, by his sister Dr. Ellen Duffy, children Susan Duffy Impelluso (Anthony), Michael Duffy (Lisa), Ellen Herold (Mark), James Duffy (Serena), 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The viewing will be held Friday December 1, at Beach Funeral Home, 4999 N. Wickham Rd, Melbourne, FL from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held Saturday December 2 at 11:00 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 1626 Oak St., Melbourne, FL.
