Mark Clayton Brown
June 5th, 1951 - May 30th, 2018
Mark Clayton Brown passed from this life and into heaven at age 66 on May 30th, 2018 at his home in Melbourne, FL surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born in Long Beach, CA on June 5th, 1951 to Frances and Clayton Brown as one of four children. He was a graduate of Orange High School, Orange, CA in 1969 then continued his education at Fullerton College followed by The University of Redlands, earning his bachelors degree. As a young adult, Mark had many jobs, ranging from selling peanuts at Anaheim Angel Stadium to pumping gas at Dale Watt's Union 76 Gas Station in downtown Orange. Eventually he followed in his father's footsteps getting a job at Northrop Grumman Aerospace in 1973, where he managed such projects as the F-18 Hornet, 747 Jet, and Global Hawk throughout his 34 years at Northrop that took him from California, to Georgia, Texas, and eventually Florida. Mark also served as a reserve police officer in Orange, CA from 1980 - 1993, and was awarded reserve officer of the year in 1987. After retirement from Northrop in May 2007, Mark went on to hold several consulting jobs for Boeing and Lanic Aerospace, and later worked for CPI in Jacksonville and ATC in Melbourne, FL. Mark was an active member of his community in Melbourne, volunteering his time with the Brevard County Sherriff's Department, a member of the Elks club, and active member of the Faith Viera Lutheran church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, and being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. He will always be remembered for his kindness and sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Michelle, his daughter Koren (Eamonn, Everly) his son Ryan, (Sydney, Emma). He also leaves 1 sister Rita (Chris), 1 brother Ken (Janice), several nieces and nephews, and his extended "Canadian Family". In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Moffitt Cancer Center for Melanoma Research at www.moffitt.org. Services will be held at Faith Viera Lutheran Church at 5550 Faith Drive, Rockledge, FL 32955 on Sunday, June 3rd at 2:00 PM.
