Richard "Rick" Oaks, 70, of West Melbourne, passed away on October 8, 2018 unexpectedly. He was born on April 13, 1948 in Warren, OH to the late Earl and Blanche Oaks, who moved to the Melbourne area in the early 1950's. Rick graduated Satellite High School in 1967. Rick was the original owner and operator of Ricks Oak Tree in Melbourne for many years and before that he and his father ran the Bamboo Lounge. Rick was an entrepreneur who had many businesses over the years. He spent the last 20 plus years as a Process Server. He was predeceased in death by his beloved wife, Ann Oaks in 2002 and sister, Laraine Oaks in 2014. Rick is survived by his loving son, Kevin, his daughter in-law, Robin, granddaughter, Brenna, faithful cat Kitty Kitty "Baby", ex-wife Lynn and many good friends and extended family members. Viewing hours will be held at Beach Funeral Homes - East, Indian Harbour Beach on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 1-3:30pm with a celebration of life to begin at 3:30pm. Entombment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Florida Aid to Animals in Rick's name is requested.
