On October 26, 2019 Max Frederick Kenyon, loving father and husband, went home to His Lord after a 3-year battle with leukemia. Max was strong, caring and entertaining to be around. Many remember him as the "life of the party". He loved to dance, tell stories, and often jokes that only he laughed at. He enjoyed playing golf, loved traveling, beach walking and simply engaging with people. At his core, Max was a faithful, supportive friend who always extended a helping hand and lent an ear to listen or shoulder to lean on to anyone in need. For many years, until stepping into heaven, Max lived his faith in God. He was a committed volunteer and passionate advocate for St. Marcus School, supporting the underserved children of Milwaukee's central city. Born on October 17,1944 and raised in Huntingdon, PA, Max moved with his family to Oklahoma City where he graduated from high school and attended Oklahoma State University. In 1967, Max accepted employment in Chicago and within a few years married Linda. Initially residing in Chicago, they moved to Madison, WI in 1975 to start their family. Over the course of his healthcare executive career, Max's vocation took the family to several cities, eventually retiring in Grand Rapids, MI. In 2013, fulfilling his dream of living near the beach, he moved to Florida where he met and married his wife Alice in 2015. Max was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Nancy (Hefright) Kenyon, and sister Barbara Jo Mikolaitis. He is survived by loving wife Alice; Linda and their children; Matthew (Dustin), Megan (Keith), Lauren (Chuck), and Lukas; his sister Beverly (James) Cain; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Max's life will be celebrated twice! In Florida, on November 2nd a gathering will be held at Coastline Community Church in Indian Harbor Beach at 11 am. A celebration of Max's life is also planned on November 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Keystone Community Church located at 655 Spaulding Road SE in Ada, MI Those wishing to honor Max through a charitable gift are invited to make memorial donations directly to St. Marcus School: 2215 N Palmer St, Milwaukee, WI 53212 or www.stmarcus.org/school.
