Joan Marie Cassidy August 3, 1936-January 2, 2020 Joan Marie Cassidy, 83, originally of Maplewood, NJ, passed away on January 2, 2020, surrounded by the love and support of her family. Joanie was raised in Maplewood, NJ, where she attended St. Joseph's Catholic School, graduated Columbia High School, raised her family, worked part-time at Gary's Restaurant, and spent summers with her kids at the Jersey Shore. Joan also spent her golden years — the last thirty years of joyous retirement in the sunny seaside town of Satellite Beach, Florida. Joan Cassidy had a passion for oil painting, sewing, furniture making, reading, cooking, and singing. Her favorite song to sing was 'You'll Never Walk Alone.' Joan truly had a zest for life. She was known for her sweet smile, generous spirit and giving heart. Above all, Joan was a devoted mother of four, and proud grandma to nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She loved spending her days with them all, caring and creating memories to last a lifetime. Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Patrick Cassidy, brother Lincoln McCluskey, sister Betty Togna, and parents, Mary and Lincoln McCluskey. She is survived by her loving children, Marilyn Capuano (Matthew), Diane Martin (Peter), Thomas Cassidy (Claire), Stacey Shally (Robert), and her grandchildren Dana (Nick), Damien, Amanda, Peter, Samantha, Brooke, Jack, Kayla, Connor, and great-grandchildren, Dominic, Emily, and Jacob. She also leaves behind devoted sister, Marilyn Stevko, brother-in-law, Enrico Togna, and sister-in-law, Kathleen Holevinski. A private service was held January 17, 2020, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic, FL.
