George C. Bisset
August 11th, 1924 - March 18th, 2010
George C Bisset III 86, of Satellite Beach, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2010 at Claire Bridge Senior Living in Melbourne. He was born in New York City and grew up in Teaneck, NJ where he met his beloved wife of 56 years, Dorothy Keough. He served in WWII with the Army's 47th bomber squadron as an armorer. He returned to Fort Dix N.J from the Pacific in 1948 and worked for Republic Pictures as a photo processor, doing radio and TV repair on the side. He married Dorothy and they started their family in Teaneck. In 1957, they moved to Satellite Beach where he fully enjoyed the Florida lifestyle as an avid swimmer, boater and fisherman. He loved shrimping from the causeway bridges, and shell fishing in the river shallows. He built sailing prams and canoes for his five children and encouraged their interests in fishing, surfing and skiing in the local waters. He retired in 1987 from the Civil Service as the Photo Optics Chief of the USAF Eastern Test Range. His decorated career spanned 26 years of NASA space programs from project Mercury to the Space Shuttle. He was predeceased by wife Dorothy in 2004. He is s survived by his sons George IV, Roger, Robert, John, his daughter Linda Bisset and nine beautiful grand children. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 1-2p.m with a service beginning at 2:00p.m at Beach Funeral Homes, 1689 South Patrick Drive.
