Muriel "Kettling" K. Marquardt
March 30th, 1921 - November 8th, 2010
Muriel K. Marquardt was born Muriel Virginia to Bertha and Ray Kettling on March 30, 1921 in Jersey City, New Jersey. After graduation from Dickinson High School and The Packard School, she began her career with Colgate Palmolive Company in New York City. In 1942, she married William Charles Marquardt, Jr. After World War II, they resided in Jersey City, New Jersey and had three children named William Charles Marquardt III(deceased), Virginia M. (Marquardt) Chmielewski and Bruce Howard Marquardt. In 1954 the family moved to Colonia, New Jersey where they lived until 1966, when they moved to Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Here she continued her career with The Country Way, then Automotive Rentals, Inc. As retired empty nesters, Muriel and William moved to Satellite Beach, Florida in 1990. William died in 1991 and Muriel continued to live in Satellite Beach. In 1996, she moved to Melbourne Beach, Florida with her daughter, Virginia and Son in Law, Ronald Chmielewski. She passed on November 8, 2010. Muriel is survived by daughter Virginia M. Chmielewski and her husband Ronald S. Chmielewski of Melbourne Beach, Florida and son Bruce H. Marquardt and his wife Chris Marquardt of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren Kristen Gail (Chmielewski) Cokeley and her husband Sean Cokely of St. Augustine, Florida and Michael Andrew Chmielewski of Tallahassee, Florida. Muriel's surviving great grandchildren include Jackson Cash Chmielewski and Riley Ashlin Cokeley. Muriel is a lifetime member of the Eastern Star of New Jersey. For many years, she volunteered for the Brevard Association for the Advancement of the Blind (B.A.A.B). She remained an active member of the Lions Club of Satellite Beach.
